This Privacy Policy governs the collection, storage, use, processing, sharing and deletion of any personal data collected by Transparência Brasil.
Transparência Brasil seeks to fully respect the General Personal Data Protection Law – LGPD (Federal Law No. 13,709/2018) and declares the entity’s commitment to preserving the privacy and confidentiality of personal data. We care about your privacy, honor and image, and will use all possible means to protect them.
In accordance with the LGPD and for the purposes of this policy, personal data is considered to be any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, which may include name, e-mail, address, CPF number, ID, location data and IP address, without prejudice to other data which, taken together, make it possible to identify a person unequivocally.
Sensitive personal data is data on racial or ethnic origin, religious conviction, political opinion, membership of a trade union or religious, philosophical or political organization, data relating to health or sex life, genetic or biometric data, when linked to a person.

1. WHAT DATA CAN TRANSPARÊNCIA BRASIL COLLECT?
- Visiting the Transparência Brasil website: During your visit to the website, we may record some data, such as data relating to your internet provider, operating system, browser, video settings and pages accessed. This data is collected by means of cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to disable cookies or delete them. If enabled, we (and the third parties mentioned above) will issue cookies when you interact with our website. We only collect data via cookies that is essential for the operation of our website and for access metrics. We do not share this data with third parties other than those responsible for the cookies themselves.With the exception of cookie data, no personal data is automatically collected; information of this nature is only recorded in our databases when a form is voluntarily completed by the user.
In addition, the Transparência Brasil website uses the Google Analytics tool which analyzes your interactions and how you use the website. Google Analytics is a web analytics service that identifies your browsing patterns on our website and generates reports on these activities so that we can improve the Transparência Brasil website. In order to do this, personal contact details, how you use the site and data that identifies you are collected/shared. The processing of this data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
- Signing up to receive our monthly newsletter to follow Transparência Brasil’s work and other relevant issues on transparency, social control and integrity: here, we collect data from interested parties who give their consent to receive our electronic communications. In this case, we only ask for their name and e-mail address. The data is shared with the Mailerlite platform, which does not pass it on to third parties. Mailerlite processes data to generate metrics for opening emails and clicks on its content, as described in its privacy policy (“Subscribers”).
- Membership of Transparência Brasil: to become a member of the organization, we ask for the following data: name, CPF number, e-mail, address, telephone and cell phone, profession, institution/employer, education, motivation for membership and self-declaration on the absence of judicial convictions related to acts of corruption.
No sensitive personal data will be collected for the purposes of the activities mentioned here.
The data will be acquired through prior consent collected individually in a clear, specific and legitimate manner. Consent may be changed by the data subject at any time to grant new permissions, withdraw their consent for old permissions and request the deletion of their data from our database, as indicated in Item 5 below.
2. HOW DO WE USE THE DATA COLLECTED?
The data collected will only be used for Transparência Brasil’s institutional purposes. In general terms, we use the data to: (i) communicate with interested parties; (ii) publicize our activities; (iii) promote the association of interested parties to the entity, under the terms of our Bylaws; and (iv) identify the characteristics of access and navigation on our website.
3. WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?
In general, Transparência Brasil will not sell, share, assign or transmit your personal data to third parties without your prior consent.
We use third-party services to host our website, our e-mail and our newsletter, so your data may be shared with them for the maintenance and support of these services. However, the sharing of this data does not imply its use for any purpose other than that described in this policy. This relationship is governed by the privacy policies of Linode, Google and Mailerlite, respectively.
In the event that your data needs to be handled by suppliers, the service contract will include a confidentiality clause to protect this data.
4. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP THIS DATA?
Transparência Brasil will only keep your data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. In order to maintain the history of requests received, the personal data provided will be anonymized within a maximum of 3 months after the data has been collected.
5. HOW DO I REQUEST ACCESS TO AND DELETION OF DATA?
The user may request a copy of their personal information at any time, as well as request the correction or removal of this information. If the user wishes to have their data deleted immediately, they can request this at any time by sending a message to our team at contato@transparencia.org.br.
